Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions for Sunday, June 29, 2025, affecting selected areas in Uasin Gishu and Laikipia counties.
The planned outages are part of ongoing network maintenance efforts aimed at enhancing service reliability and system efficiency.
“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (29th June 2025). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power stated in a notice shared on their official platform.

Grid maintenance and safety
These scheduled maintenance activities are routine and crucial for ensuring a stable and safe power supply. Kenya Power often undertakes such initiatives to upgrade ageing infrastructure, replace worn-out equipment, and clear vegetation near power lines.
Customers in the affected regions have been advised to take the necessary precautions, including switching off electrical appliances to avoid potential damage once power is restored. Kenya Power also directed users to their advanced notice portal for more detailed and up-to-date schedules.
This update forms part of Kenya Power’s broader strategy to modernise the national grid and reduce instances of unplanned outages in future. Residents are encouraged to remain patient and cooperate with the utility provider as the upgrades continue.
