Kenyan socialite Faith Makau, widely recognised by her moniker Amber Ray, has penned a heartfelt tribute to her husband, businessman Kennedy Rapudo, after he surprised her with an indulgent getaway and luxurious dinner despite being unwell.
In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Amber lavishly detailed the string of romantic gestures included in the escape Rapudo organised, revealing it featured a bed extravagantly adorned with roses, a lavish dinner, a soothing massage, and a high-end glam makeover.
“From a surprise massage to a glam makeover, then a dreamy dinner surrounded by flowers just how I adore them—grand and dramatic—and finally, a bedroom exquisitely decorated just for me,” she gushed.
The socialite, who recently disclosed that her rise to fame began after being paraded in a popular Facebook group dubbed ‘Kilimani Mums’, went on to add that such thoughtful surprises from her husband are precisely why she holds no regrets about embracing motherhood.
She described motherhood as a divine gift and insisted that having a partner who lavishes her with such adoration and extravagant gestures is, in itself, a rare treasure.
“I’m utterly speechless—being a mum is both a blessing and a privilege, but to be loved so deeply is truly the real gift,” she reflected.
Amber Ray then proceeded to express gratitude to Rapudo for the heartfelt surprise, affectionately referring to him as the love of her life.
She revealed that the entire gesture had completely swept her off her feet, particularly because Rapudo was gravely ill at the time yet still went the extra mile to plan a posh and memorable Mother’s Day celebration, and she thanked him for always being present in her life.
“Thank you, my love—even in sickness, you went above and beyond to make this Mother’s Day unforgettable for me. Even in illness, you made it happen—my heart is overflowing with love,” she concluded her post.

Africanah’s birthday
The socialite’s joyful celebration of her husband’s romantic surprise came just hours after she had taken to Instagram on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to pen a touching and love-soaked tribute to her darling daughter, Africanah, as she marked her second birthday.
Amber opened up about the unexpected way her pregnancy unfolded, revealing that before discovering she was expecting Africanah, she had made a personal decision never to have another child unless she was married.
However, she explained that the universe seemed to have a different plan for her.
“Before I found out I was pregnant with you, the universe was already preparing me. I had vowed never to have another child before marriage, even though I knew I had the strength to raise one. But God had His plan… and He wanted you here,” Amber Ray expressed.
She shared that she kept receiving signs, recurring numbers, and visions, indicating that something new and life-changing was about to happen, even though she didn’t yet understand what it meant. After two sleepless nights, she finally discovered she was pregnant.
At the time, she and her partner, Kennedy Rapudo, had broken up. Despite the separation, Amber said Rapudo had a dream about their unborn child, describing Africah just as she is today.
On the same day, Amber decided to go for a scan. Rapudo unknowingly sent her money via M-Pesa with the message, “I’ve decided to buy you lunch today.” She said he had no idea what she was going through, but his message and timing were exactly what she needed in that moment.
“I kept seeing signs—numbers, visions—telling me to prepare for a new chapter I didn’t yet understand. I remember going two nights without sleep… only to discover I was pregnant with you,” she shared.
Adding:
“At that time, your dad and I had broken up. Yet even he had a dream of you, exactly how you are today. And the craziest part? On the day I went for a scan just to be sure, he sent me an Mpesa with the message: “I’ve decided to buy you lunch today.” He didn’t know what was happening in my life… but somehow, he sent exactly what I needed.”
