Mulamwah confirms new romance with Ugandan lady weeks after Ruth K split
Kenyan comedian David Oyando, who doubles up as a content creator, popularly known as Mulamwah, has confirmed his new relationship with a Ugandan woman just weeks after his public breakup with content creator Ruth K.
In a candid phone conversation with radio host Ankali Ray, Mulamwah revealed that he had travelled outside the country to meet his new partner, whom he affectionately referred to as Debby.
Expressing contentment with his decision, Mulamwah noted that he is done dating Kenyan ladies.
“Debby ako sawa hana maneno; nilikuwa nimetoka nje ya nchi kidogo kupatana na yeye kwa sababu Wakenya walinishinda. Sasa sifanyi local; I do not play local. She is Ugandan. Hapo nimeganda; hapo niko sawa kuoshwa miguu. I have decided to try this out,” Mulamwah confirmed.
Mulamwah further disclosed that Debby is currently not in Kenya, having returned to Uganda after their meeting. He emphasised that their relationship is progressing gradually, particularly concerning the issue of having kids.
“She is not in Kenya for now. She was here, then left. It’s the grace of God. Sai mambo ya mbegu tunaenda pole pole no more kids until marriage,” he added.
Social media accounts
The content creator also addressed speculation regarding the management of Ruth K’s social media accounts after their break-up.
Mulamwah clarified that Ruth K continues to operate her original accounts. He emphasised that the accounts remain active and have not been transferred to anyone else, noting that they are still under her management and have not been taken over by any other party.
“Kwani haipostiwi si inapostiwa? Kwani itakuwa ilichukuliwa aje Facebook iko huko bado haijachukuliwa na mtu yeyote; handle zote ziko na zinatumika na yeye. Hakuna mtu yeyote ameichukua,” he stated.
Mulamwah to critics
This confirmation comes after the content creator clapped back at critics who trolled him after he soft-launched his new catch, Debby.
Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber, Trudy Kitui, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Mulamwah hit back at critics, insisting that he is a man in high demand. He told off those who questioned the speed of his rebound, confidently declaring that he is simply not the type to gather dust on the shelf.
“Just one hour, mini hot cake; siwezi kaa kwa shelf more than one hour. Ukiniacha ivi, shida yako,” Mulamwah said, making it clear that finding love is not a challenge for him.
Break-up with Ruth K
On April 10, 2025, the father of three confirmed his breakup with fiancée and baby mama Ruth K, marking the end of a highly publicised relationship that began in 2021 and culminated in a romantic proposal just weeks ago.
Taking to his official Instagram account, the former radio host announced the end of their short-lived relationship, during which they welcomed a child together.
“YES, it’s TRUE WE HAVE DECIDED TO PART WAYS WITH R.K. It was nice while it lasted,” he confirmed.
