The highly anticipated birthday party of businessman Kennedy Rapudo and his socialite wife, Amber Ray, for their two-year-old daughter, Africanah, unfolded in grandeur on the evening of Saturday, May 31, 2025, as the couple pulled out all the stops to create an experience that would linger in the memories of those who attended.

The birthday bash, which drew Kenya’s A-list celebrities in large numbers, saw Rapudo shower his daughter with hundreds of crisp Ksh1,000 notes, leaving guests in awe at the sheer opulence the couple had chosen to envelop the year’s milestone celebration in.

In a video shared by SPM Buzz on Instagram, Rapudo, sharply dressed in a wine-red suit, was seen letting the cash fly as Africanah stood beside her mother near a giant podium lit up with brightly coloured letters that proudly spelt out her full name in decorative flair.

As soon as Amber Ray saw Rapudo tossing the notes, she broke into a joyful dance and began ululating with delight, while little Africanah shuffled closer to her mother and joined in with an adorable slow-motion dance move that melted the hearts of everyone watching.

The emcee of the evening, popular YouTuber 2Mbili, kept the energy high by cheering Rapudo on and urging him to keep the money rain going, as the crowd of guests erupted in cheer and excitement.

Otile Brown’s surprise appearance

In true Amber Ray fashion — consistent with her earlier vow to go all out — the celebration scaled glorious heights when renowned Kenyan R&B artiste Otile Brown appeared unexpectedly and delivered a soul-stirring performance of his latest musical offerings.

The singer, dressed in a white sweater-shirt and black trousers, made his entrance just as the celebrations had reached their crescendo, and took to the colourfully illuminated stage, joining Amber Ray and Africanah in rhythmic dance as the crowd roared in delight.

The guests, clearly thrilled by the unannounced performance, were seen whipping out their phones to record the magical moment, creating a sea of glowing screens as Otile’s voice filled the air, adding yet another layer of sparkle to a party that had already pulled out all the stops.

Otile, who arrived flanked by approximately four bodyguards, performed his 2022 chart-topping hit ‘Woman’, a collaboration with Tanzanian Konde Gang label boss Harmonize, stirring the crowd into a frenzy of cheers and admiration.

He followed up with a rousing rendition of his 2020 hit ‘Dusuma’, prompting the guests to chant his name, their energy fuelling the night’s revelry that only intensified as the celebration carried on deep into the night.

Africanah’s entrance

Among the most heart-stirring highlights of the evening was Africanah’s grand entrance, which brought the party to a momentary standstill as she was ushered in, held lovingly on each side by her parents, while dressed in a meticulously tailored pink gown that glimmered under the party lights.

The young celebrant appeared radiant throughout, clearly touched by the delightful surprise her parents had orchestrated in her honour. The entire venue was transformed into a whimsical haven, adorned with elaborate baby-themed decorations, all set against a delicate palette of blue and pink hues that added a magical air to the occasion.

Cuppie’s dazzling entrance

Among the notable guests was fashion-forward personality Cuppie Ayoka, who made a sensational entrance in a flowing dress embellished with shimmering silver linings and crowned with an eye-catching African headpiece, drawing stares and admiration as she joined the festivities.

Another attendee who turned heads was flamboyant tycoon and Nairobi senatorial aspirant Johannes Bolo, who arrived dressed in a deep wine-red traditional outfit, complete with an elaborate headpiece, with his attire closely resembling that of Kennedy Rapudo, creating a visual synergy that caught the attention of many.

He was warmly received by Amber Ray, flanked by bodyguards, and was later seen being directed to where Africanah stood so that he could offer her his blessings in a moment that blended cultural reverence with heartfelt celebration.
