Amber Ray vows to go big for daughter Africanah’s 2nd birthday party
Socialite and reality TV star Amber Ray has vowed to celebrate her daughter, Africanah Rapudo’s, second birthday with an incredibly luxurious and show-stopping party.
In a post on her Instagram stories on Thursday, May 29, 2025, the self-proclaimed ‘Bibi ya Tajiri’ reminded her followers how Africanah’s first white birthday party had caused a sensation online last year and declared that this year’s celebration would be even more impressive.
“This was Africanah Rapudo’s first birthday, and it was like a movie… I cannot wait to show you what we have planned for this coming one,” she wrote.
Amber Ray also posted a video clip from the previous birthday, showing how much effort had gone into every detail, which had been carefully planned with grandeur and elegance.
The party featured a hired MC, and the decorations were based on a white theme, including a fairy tale park set up for the children to sit and play under.
On that occasion, Amber had dressed to kill, wearing a white gown embellished with pearls and delicate feather adornments, while her husband, businessman Kennedy Rapudo, had donned a sharply tailored white suit.
Africanah wore a white dress with puffed shoulder sleeves, and the celebration was filled with dancing, music, and joyous moments shared among family and friends.
The party promise came just three days after Amber Ray, alongside Rapudo, arrived back at their Syokimau home following a getaway in Mombasa, where they had gone to take Africanah for a pre-birthday treat.
The getaway, Amber Ray said, was a wonderful way to help Africanah prepare herself for the upcoming party and to also make her feel special, given that she is turning only two years old.
During the getaway, they toured various iconic places in Mombasa, and videos from the occasion melted hearts online, with fans flooding them with warm and affectionate messages.
Decision to give birth
Earlier on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the proud mother took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message dedicated to her little girl, capturing the raw emotions and journey that led to Africanah’s birth.
Amber opened up about the unexpected way her pregnancy unfolded. She revealed that before discovering she was expecting, she had made a personal decision never to have another child unless she was married.
However, she explained that the universe seemed to have a different plan for her.
“Before I found out I was pregnant with you, the universe was already preparing me. I had vowed never to have another child before marriage, even though I knew I had the strength to raise one. But God had His plan… and He wanted you here,” Amber Ray expressed.
She shared that she kept receiving signs, recurring numbers, and visions, indicating that something new and life-changing was about to happen, even though she did not yet understand what it meant. After two sleepless nights, she finally discovered she was pregnant.
At the time, she and her partner, Kennedy Rapudo, had broken up. Despite the separation, Amber said Rapudo had a dream about their unborn child, describing Africanah just as she is today.
On the same day, Amber decided to go for a scan. Rapudo unknowingly sent her money via M-Pesa with the message, “I’ve decided to buy you lunch today.” She said he had no idea what she was going through, but his message and timing were exactly what she needed in that moment.
“I kept seeing signs—numbers, visions—telling me to prepare for a new chapter I didn’t yet understand. I remember going two nights without sleep… only to discover I was pregnant with you,” she shared.
Adding;
“At that time, your dad and I had broken up. Yet even he had a dream of you, exactly how you are today. And the craziest part? On the day I went for a scan just to be sure, he sent me an Mpesa with the message: “I’ve decided to buy you lunch today.” He didn’t know what was happening in my life… but somehow, he sent exactly what I needed.”
Amber admitted she was initially afraid of becoming a single mother again. But once she found out she was carrying Africah, all her fears disappeared. She said she chose her daughter wholeheartedly, regardless of her relationship status.
“I was scared—afraid to be a single mom again. But the moment I knew you were growing inside me, all those fears disappeared. I chose you with my whole heart, with or without anyone else,” she stated.
According to Amber, Africanah has been nothing but a blessing. She described her daughter as deeply loved and adored, someone who lights up the lives of everyone around her.
She also spoke about the meaning behind her daughter’s name. “Africannah,” she explained, carries the spirit of Africa, representing its richness, power, and beauty. Amber expressed hope that her daughter would grow up to embody all the qualities the name stands for.
“Your name, Africannah, carries the spirit of Africa—its richness, power, and beauty. May you grow to embody everything your name stands for,” the mother of two shared.
